Alvar Aalto created the collection of Aalto vases for Iittala and the World Fair in Paris in 1937. They were presented in various shapes, colours and sizes. The wavy shape ('aalto' = 'wave' in Finnish) may have its origins in Finnish landscapes and lakes. Different pieces can be displayed as a group or as a single – the function is for you to decide.
You can find it almost everywhere ... just have a look on japanese architects as Bow-Wow or Sanaa and you will find it !
