Alvar Aalto created the collection of Aalto vases for Iittala and the World Fair in Paris in 1937. They were presented in various shapes, colours and sizes. The wavy shape ('aalto' = 'wave' in Finnish) may have its origins in Finnish landscapes and lakes. Bowls can be used as serving dishes or decorations. Different pieces can be displayed as a group or as a single – the function is for you to decide.
